LuxCarta Deep Learning Workshop Research and Industrial Application Tunis, Tunisia June 11-12, 2019

LuxCarta, a leading provider of geospatial products, is pleased to offer a Research and Application Workshop aimed at training in Deep Learning for Computer Vision Applications, with a special focus on geospatial use cases. The workshop targets engineers and graduate students.


You will learn:

  • Fundamentals of machine learning and deep learning concepts
  • Design of deep neural networks for computer vision applications
  • Implementation of deep learning architectures using Tensorflow for common vision applications, such as image classification and segmentation
  • Train and deploy your models to solve real-world problems, with a case study of an actual LuxCarta industrial application

Prerequisites: Technical background and programming skills. Basic understanding of machine learning concepts is an advantage.

About the Trainer: Dr. Yuliya Tarabalka is the Research Director at LuxCarta, senior researcher at Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique ( ) and Professor at Central Supelec in France. She received an M.Sc. degree in signal and image processing from the Grenoble Institute of Technology (INPG), France, in 2007, and a joint Ph.D. degree in signal and image processing from INPG and in electrical engineering from the University of Iceland, in 2010. In 2017, she received an HdR (habilitation to head research) degree from the University of Cote d’Azur, the topic of her dissertation being Learning approaches for remote sensing image classification. In 2007-2008, she worked as a researcher with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment. In 2010-2011, she worked as a research fellow with the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD. Over the past 15 years she has authored and co-authored more than 70 scientific publications. Her research interests are in the areas of machine learning including deep learning, image processing and high-performance computing.
