Sophia Antipolis & Meudon, France – April 23 – LuxCarta is pleased to announce a member-level technology partnership with Esri and Esri France, coinciding with the general availability of BrightEarth™ on Demand, its innovative high-resolution geospatial platform available at Brightearth.ai. BrightEarth enables users around the globe to extract and download high-quality geospatial data instantly from satellite imagery.
“Esri’s innovative technology allows us to provide more realistic building polygons to BrightEarth customers,” said Albéric Maumy, chief executive officer, LuxCarta. “Everyone is looking for the most accurate models possible and we’re happy with what ArcGIS CityEngine® allows us to deliver.”
BrightEarth leverages LuxCarta’s proprietary AI-driven technologies, which are already recognized for producing top-tier geospatial map layers. Utilizing high-definition satellite imagery and used daily by LuxCarta’s production teams, this advanced platform automates the generation of buildings, trees, road networks and walls as vector GIS data. It also produces high-definition land use/land cover (LULC) layers and coherent digital terrain models (DTMs) as raster GIS data.
By integrating with real-time satellite catalogues and archives from leading global earth observation (EO) vendors, BrightEarth ensures access to the best high-resolution imagery available on the market, enhanced by intelligent search tools. Users can also extract items from their own uploaded sub-meter imagery.
LuxCarta has partnered with Esri to incorporate its cutting-edge ArcGIS CityEngine technology into the BrightEarth platform. BrightEarth on Demand utilizes this technology, operating through a universal set of high-quality procedural and heuristic rules, to bring state-of-the-art procedural reconstruction tools to users, enabling the precise creation of synthetic environments or “augmented buildings.” The integration benefits from over two decades of international expertise in procedural generation of synthetic environments.
"BrightEarth showcases the power of our CityEngine technology, deploying a solution that works seamlessly across the globe for procedural generation,” said Gaëtan Lavenue, technical communication manager, Esri France. “Its finely tuned customization for every region on the planet, combined with effortless execution, makes CityEngine the ultimate showcase of our cutting-edge innovation. Esri is pleased to see this technology expand the availability of geospatial data on demand via BrightEarth.”
BrightEarth on Demand, including the augmented building facades and rooftops enabled by ArcGIS CityEngine, is now available for use at BrightEarth.ai.
